Tracking the movement of the tropics 800 years into the past

For the first time, scientists have traced the north-south shifts of the northern-most edge of the tropics back 800 years. The movement of the tropical boundary affects the locations of Northern Hemisphere deserts including the Sonoran, Mohave and Saharan. The Earth's climate system affects the movement of the tropics, which have been expanding since the 1970s. The research team found that in the past, periods of tropical expansion coincided with severe droughts.

I wondered about that. Ty!

Yes, I sit quietly in my backyard thinking about climate change. Weird.
Well, thinking about climate change is a creative act, and can lead to other things. Some people don't actively think about it, but more like just hear about it. Thinking is doing. Answers don't just grow on trees.

I was sitting outside Walmart this evening, waiting for my ill-begotten bus. A mother came out w/ her two kids. The little boy was carrying various stuff, swinging things around, la la la. He had a plastic back in his mouth. I thought that it held something. But he just let it drop out of his mouth. It was empty. It began floating around the parking lot as the family drove away.

For no reason this happened. And that's a little bit more plastic that will end up killing a tortoise, dolphin, or who knows.

I sat there and knew that I would be terminally outside for the rest of my life. Looking in at a continuous stream of sad idiocy. Koyaanisquasti. And I was OK with that. If we don't think, who else will?
I think about how certain regions be came desert, tropical, temperate, Arctic and then I think what climate change is doing to those regions. Since it took 800 years for the climates we have now? With climate change will tropics become deserts? Temperate into tropics? Etc...my main thought is process and result of rapid climate change. Yet, I have wondered how long it's taken up to now.

Sure hope you picked it up? I would've. I have. Yanno? I have found more money picking up garbage than anything? Seriously. I pick up pennies regardless of heads up or not.

I try to be as proactive as possible but at the same time I'm thinking how, what and why.
